Guest House Policies & Information

The following information may be helpful for your stay in Guest Housing.

COMMON AREAS:

Please note that if you are renting just a bedroom in a house, all guests share the common areas in the house, such as the kitchen, living room, and bath. Please be considerate of other guests in the house when using these common areas.

KEYS:

Each bedroom key opens the assigned bedroom door and the front and rear exterior entrances to the house. It is recommended that you lock your bedroom door and the exterior doors to the house at all times (including upon departure). Return keys to the location where you received them immediately upon your departure. To protect the security of our guests, if keys are not returned immediately upon departure, there will be a $100.00 lock change charge billed to the guest.

PARKING:

Parking for Guest Houses is located behind the houses.

EMERGENCIES:

In the event of an emergency, please contact The University of Dayton Department of Public Safety at 229-2121 (x92121 from the Guest Houses).

MAINTENANCE:

Monday through Friday 8:30am – 5:00pm: Contact Residential Properties Maintenance at
229-2049 for maintenance requests. After 5:00pm and on weekends: Contact Public Safety at 229-2121 and a troubleshooter will be dispatched.

LINEN:

Bed and bath linens are provided. Please note that daily housekeeping services are not available in guest housing. We ask that you reuse your bed and bath linens during your stay. Please leave your bath linen in your bedroom when you depart.

TELEPHONE:

A telephone is located in your bedroom for your use. There is no charge for local calls. Dial “8” to initiate a local call. To call long distance, please use a long-distance calling card or operator assistance.

PET POLICY:

Pets are not permitted in University Guest Housing. Guests who are found to have pets in guest housing will be charged a $100.00 excessive cleaning fee.

CANCELLATION POLICY:

SHOULD YOU NEED TO CANCEL OR CHANGE YOUR GUEST HOUSE RESERVATION, WE ASK THAT YOU DO SO 24 HOURS PRIOR TO YOUR SCHEDULED RESERVATION. FAILURE TO CANCEL OR CHANGE ANY PART OF YOUR RESERVATION 24 HOURS PRIOR, WILL RESULT IN A CHARGE FOR ONE NIGHT’S STAY. ALL CANCELLATIONS OR CHANGES MUST ME MADE BY CONTACTING RESIDENCE EDUCATION AT 937-229-3321, MONDAY THROUGH FRIDAY BETWEEN THE HOURS OF 8:30am to 4:30pm.

Please leave the Guest Houses in the condition in which you found them upon your arrival. Additional charges for excessive cleaning will be added to the final invoice if the houses are left in a state of disarray.
