How to Apply for Summer Housing
To be considered for summer assignment, summer contracts
and group applications must be completed online as soon as
possible. Both contract and application must be completed
in order to receive a summer assignment. The earlier student
groups apply, the better their choices of preferred housing.
All students need to apply as a group even if they are a one-person
group.
Summer Housing Application Deadlines
Once a Summer Housing Contract and Summer Housing Application
are completed online, a student is committed to summer housing.
Students will be e-mailed their summer assignment and summer
roommates if applicable by Monday, April 13, 2009. Students
assigned to Marycrest Complex for the summer will receive
specific room number when they arrive at Marycrest Main Desk
for move-in. If summer assignments and/or roommate changes
occur, students will be updated by email. Campus email addresses
found in address.udayton.edu are used for all email correspondence.
Criteria used for Summer House
Assignments
- Residence Properties staff determines houses that are
available. To
view houses that are not available click here and then
select the property you want to view. Other houses can be
added to this list at any time.
- At least one-half of the house capacity or the majority
of the house capacity’s fall residents need to complete
full summer (both first and second summer session) contracts
and group application for their fall address.

of a house beginning June 21, 2009, if at least one-half
of fall residents request the house. Groups will be notified
by email if house is available.
- Residence Education - Assignments staff will not assign
random roommates in houses, but fall residents can pull
requested summer roommates into their house group by including
in summer group application.
- Current Spring 2009 residents living in their Summer 2009
House or Garden Apartment will be charged a daily fee of

Housing Before and After Summer Housing Contract Period
Students who have a need to be on campus between contracted
periods in May and August, should contact the University department
that is requesting them to be on campus during this time.
University departments will need to complete an online Application
for Extended Use of University Housing on behalf of each of
their students who need housing during non-contracted periods.
Those students currently living in University housing who
are not associated with a University department who need to
extend their stay during these times must contact the following
individuals to express their need to extend housing beyond
the contract ending date:
For Marycrest, Stuart, Founders, Marianist, VW Kettering,
Campus South, Lawnview Apartments, and ArtStreet, contact
Judy Caruso in Residence Education - Operations at judy.caruso@notes.udayton.edu.
For Houses and Garden Apartments, contact Dearlyn Rosenfelder
in Residential Properties at dearlyn.rosenfelder@notes.udayton.edu.
Students will be notified of approval status via email. If
approved, daily housing fees will be charged to student or
department accounts. Extensions in University housing are
in no way guaranteed and Residence Education has no obligation
to house students between contracted periods. If approved,
students may be relocated to temporary housing prior to or
after the summer housing contract period.
Please note for your planning: Spring semester housing contracts
end, and all University residential facilities will close
to non-graduating students, at 6 pm on Firday, May 1, 2009.
Students with approved extensions who are moving directly
from Spring housing to a summer facility will be required
to move to that facility.
Note: Current Spring 2009 residents living in their Summer
2009 House or Garden Apartment will be charged a daily fee
of $5 per night for the period of May 1- May 10 regardless
of whether or not they turn in a key. Summer 2009 residents
living in their Fall 2009 house or Garden Apartment will be
charged a daily fee of $5 per night for the period of August
2-August 24 regardless of whether or not they turn in a key.

Residence Education - Assignments will fill Garden Apartments to capacity.
Random roommates can be assigned at any time in Garden Apartments
and students will be notified by email of roommate additions
and deletions.
Random roommates will not be assigned to Marycrest Complex
double rooms, and single occupants of a double room will be
charged a single room rate. Random roommates will not be assigned
in houses but fall residents of houses can pull in requested
summer roommates by including them in the summer group application.
