Extended-Stay
/ Early-Arrival Information
Only those students with University activities, University
work, or varsity athletics will be permitted to arrive earlier
than the housing contract date. University departments will
apply online on behalf of their students who need to arrive
early. Students who believe they have a need to arrive early
should contact their University department. No early arrivals
will be granted for convenience and students may not apply
on their own behalf. Overnight guests (including unauthorized
students/roommates) are not permitted.
During the semester break in December and during spring break,
University housing facilities will close. Students will not
be permitted to stay in the following facilities during these
times: Marycrest, Stuart, Founders, Marianist, Virginia W.
Kettering, Campus South, and Lawnview Apartments. Students
who live in University Houses, Garden Apartments, and Artstreet
Apartments and have a requirement to stay on campus during
the break must contact the University department that is requesting
them to stay on campus. The department will need to apply
for a housing extension for the student online.
University departments will also apply online on behalf of
their students who have a need to extend their stay in May,
after the Spring semester ends and before the summer session
begins. Those students who are not associated with a University
department and need to extend their stay in May will need
to contact the following individuals one week prior to the
start of final exams to express their need to extend housing
beyond the contract ending date:
For Marycrest, Stuart, Founders, Marianist, VW Kettering,
Campus South, Lawnview Apartments, and Artstreet, contact
Residence Life 937-229-3317.
For Houses and Garden Apartments, contact Dearlyn Rosenfelder
in Residential Properties at dearlyn.rosenfelder@notes.udayton.edu.
Please note: Students granted permission to extend housing
may be required to move to temporary University housing.
Early arrival and extension requests will be reviewed and
are not guaranteed. Students will be notified via email of
the status of their request.
Exact opening and closing dates for residential facilities
and other important information regarding this will be periodically
sent to students via their University email accounts. Students
are responsible for reading and understanding information
sent to their University email accounts from Residential Services.
